Services & Programs

Our services and programs are designed to prevent harm, support recovery, and promote safer, healthier communities. Through early intervention, therapeutic support, and complementary services, Spencer House Hope works with individuals and families to address harmful behaviours, strengthen wellbeing, and create pathways toward lasting positive change.

1) Emergency Harm Intervention Service

This programme provides immediate assistance to individuals and families at risk of harm through a 24/7 emergency response service. Licensed mental health professionals are available via phone, online, and in person consultations to offer crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support.

Key Activities:

  • 24-hour crisis hotline and online chat support
  • Immediate risk assessment and intervention for cases involving self-harm, suicide, family violence, and assault
  • Emergency referrals to hospitals, shelters, and protective services
  • Short-term counselling and follow-up welfare checks

Expected Outcomes:

  • Reduction in immediate harm
  • Increased safety for victims of violence and vulnerable individuals
  • Improved access to professional mental health support in emergencies

2) Behaviour Change Counselling and Rehabilitation Program

This programme aims to break the cycle of harmful behaviour through professional counselling, education, and rehabilitation support. It provides both individual and group sessions for persons affected by or engaging in harmful or abusive conduct.

Key Activities:

  • Behavioural therapy and cognitive counselling sessions with licensed mental health professionals
  • Rehabilitation support for individuals affected by substance abuse, self-harm, or violent behaviour
  • Family and relationship counselling to promote healthy conflict resolution and communication
  • Personal development workshops focused on resilience, anger management, and emotional wellbeing

Expected Outcomes:

  • Reduction in recurrence of harmful or abusive behaviours
  • Improved mental health and coping strategies for participants
  • Strengthened family and community relationships

3) Supportive and Incidental Services

This project provides services and programs that support and complement Spencer House Hope’s principal activities aimed at preventing or minimising harmful and abusive behaviours. These incidental services enhance the organisation’s capacity address harm, promote safety, and protect individuals from abusive or harmful situations.

Key Activities:

  • Offer peer support groups, counselling referrals, and safe-space sessions for those affected by harmful behaviours.
  • Engage with vulnerable populations to provide guidance, referrals, and connection to specialist support services.
  • Deliver workshops, seminars, and training to help individuals recognise, respond to, and prevent harmful behaviours.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Strengthened capacity of communities and individuals to prevent, respond to, and reduce abusive or harmful behaviours.
